Features

Everything a small business trading on both sides of the border needs to keep its books and VAT right, without two sets of software.

Books

  • Upload bank statements from online banking, sterling and euro. Lines already uploaded are skipped.
  • Mark each line UK or Ireland and choose its category and VAT treatment. Rules you set fill in common lines for you.
  • Each euro or sterling amount is converted once, on the day it’s booked, and never moves afterwards.
  • Profit and loss for any quarter or year, in pounds and euro.

VAT

  • Choose where the business is registered: UK only, Ireland only, or both. You only see the returns that apply.
  • The UK return is worked out from your transactions. Open any box to see the lines behind it.
  • Send it to HMRC through Making Tax Digital once someone allowed to file has ticked HMRC’s declaration.
  • Irish VAT for each two-month period, ready to enter on ROS.
  • VAT paid on the other side of the border, where you’re not registered, is listed for a refund claim.
  • Deadlines for both sides on the Overview.

Receipts

  • Photograph or upload receipts and invoices, photo or PDF.
  • The supplier, date, total and VAT are read automatically. You check them and confirm.
  • Each receipt is matched to its bank line, and you can see which payments still need one.

Limited companies

  • A director’s loan balance for each director, built from bank lines, costs paid personally and entries you add.
  • Warnings before UK charges apply (section 455, benefit in kind over £10,000) and their Irish equivalents.
  • Every balance opens to the entries behind it, for your accountant to check.

Help when you need it

  • Plain-English help articles on every part of the app, with links to the HMRC and Revenue rules behind them.
  • A help assistant that answers questions about how the app works and how a line’s VAT is treated. It explains; it never changes or files anything.

Coming next

  • E-invoices through the Peppol network, ahead of Ireland’s and the UK’s e-invoicing changes.
  • Making Tax Digital for Income Tax quarterly updates.
  • Bank feeds, so statements arrive without uploading.
